Santa's Workshop!

So back on the 30th we went to Santa's Workshop, it is a family tradition that all of the little kids love.

Dominic made a Jet

They all get to pick out a wooden toy and build it themselves (with the help of an elf).

Lili made a frog

Audrey made a squirrel

And then they got to paint them, and add glitter.

After they finished painting we all went on a wagon ride to see all of the Christmas Lights and we stopped by the barn to see a horse show.
Santa's Workshop marks the first holiday tradition of the year, and now that it's over the rest of the Christmas preparations have begun.

A Long Time Ago, in a Galaxy Far, Far Away....

....Sammy posted something on the blog.  I know, I know. I have been REALLY bad about posting things on the blog of late. I shall try to get better with that.

You can expect an actual post tomorrow, but I will give you a sneak peek at the pictures!

I can only tell you this, it involved Elves, paint and a WHOLE LOT of glitter.

Some Strange Something

Somebody, and I'm not positively sure who, MUST have put something in the little kid's food tonight.  Let me give you a mental picture;

Me, Sam, lying on the great room floor.

First, I was supposed to be becoming a mummy,

Dominic covered me in blankets...

Put wood blocks on my legs, stomach, hands and feet...

Audrey started poking me with who knows what (my head was covered with a blanket at the time.)...

And said a 'magic spell'....

And then I became a crazy tickling zombie.

Not what they were planning.

About a minute after the 'spell' was said the two of them were over the whole "crazy tickling zombie" thing, and they switched to:

"Doctoring" me,

Audrey's got a toy John Deere Chainsaw and was "operating" on me, because APPARENTLY I've got something wrong with my blood stream.

Dominic was slicing me open with a toy army knife, because, obviously I have something wrong with my brain and it needs to be cut open.

They also 'handcuffed' me with one of those fabric wraps that you put on sprains.

Meanwhile, Lili is watching all of this going on from her upside-down perch on the couch, giggling madly and grinning like a psycho child.

Dominic insisted that I needed my reflexes checked ALL OVER MY BODY.

And Audrey, well she just continued with the chainsaw.

After he was done 'tapping' me with the blunt edge of his toy knife Dominic decided it was time to start a game of Frisbee with me, while I was still on the floor covered in blankets and bandages and being tended to by a psychotic chainsaw wielding doctor.

Lili started building a block tower.

She ordered that EVERYONE must be still and only whisper, because, of course, the tower took her AN HOUR (two minutes) to build.

Audrey decided to help Lili after her tower fell down the first time, leaving me FREE TO LEAVE THE HOSPITAL.

Dominic accepted that we had to stop playing Frisbee after he ALMOST hit the floor lamp.

And then I headed upstairs.

Livvy is a CRAZY BABY tonight. My parents, they have a recliner in their room, and my mom was sitting in it playing with Liv.

When Olivia sees me she basically does a back bend out of my mommy's arms and starts super-speedy crawling towards me.

She gets to me, pulls up on my arm and starts growling at me.

She then sits down, turns around and super-speedy crawls back to my mom.

And does this again...

And again...

And again...

She then decides that mom and I aren't cool enough, crawls away from both of us and heads towards the bathroom.

Mom follows her.

Audrey comes to get me because her and Lili have built a tree out of blocks. I'm told I must only whisper and stay at least ONE FOOT away from it because, and this is an exact Lili quote "It's very unstable." I love it when little kids use big words... BUT ANYWAY....

I go downstairs and see their epic wooden block tree, which looks like something out of Mario Brothers.

I tell them how cool it is and they even LET ME TOUCH IT!

After all of this epic tree-ness I sit down on the couch. At this point I've somehow acquired Livvy (I seriously don't remember how) and Dominic has come running over to try and make her laugh, which involves lots of silly faces and crazy voices and "LIVVY!" growls and "LIV!!!" shouts.

And then Lili comes over...

and says to Liv, with a perfectly straight face;

"My Livvy, Baby!"

In a.

Crystal clear.

British.

Accent.

It has been a strange, but very entertaining night.

Lili's Big Girl Birthday

On October 7th Lili turned four. YES. FOUR. My baby sis, my Bud, my Chicky, is FOUR.
And since her birthday was two days after Audrey's oh so very late birthday party, Lili wanted a Big Girl Birthday too.

So at the end of Audrey's party we had cupcakes for Lili.

I think she liked her presents.

She was also very thankful that we DIDN'T sing Happy Birthday. She HATES that song and it makes her cry. Seriously. So, for her birthday everyone yelled "HAPPY BIRTHDAY LILI!!" and that was that.

Happy Belated Birthday, Chicky!

If I seem to disappear...

If I seem to disappear for the next few days, it's probably because the power is out. Sandy is on the way and the wind is HIGH. So, I shall write after all of this lovely weather is over.

Audrey's 8 1/2 Birthday

So, back on the... 5th of October (I couldn't even remember the date on the day) Audrey had her Birthday Party.

Her birthday was back in February, but Livvy was born less than two weeks before then, so we postponed the party until the Summer, that way Audrey could have a pool party-which she had wanted anyway-but as usual in this house, summer came and went and guess what?

NO PARTY.

By August The Backyard Pool of the 8 was too cold to swim in and we got busy with fair and school.

Half way through September we finally set a date.

It would be a Rainbow-Themed Slumber Party with 9-YES NINE-girls, not including Audrey.

Craziness.

There were lots of things that Audrey wanted for her party, we ended up with:

  • Burritos
  • Decorate your own hot chocolate mug
  • Epic games of Twister
  • Barbies
  • Played the Samantha the American Girl Mystery Game
  • Watched a Movie
  • Put on fake mustaches and tattoos
And they basically had NO SLEEP.

Trust me, I know I had to camp out down stairs.

Happy MAJORLY Belated Birthday Audj, LOVE YA!

Army Men and Planes

Army Men and Planes. That was the requested theme for Dominic's 6th Birthday Party that was back in September, and he got what he asked for.

They zip lined flew from place to place
They tied balloons to their legs and tried to pop each other's balloons

Dom's birthday party was small (four kids came over, and one of them was Audrey's friend). It was layed back and everybody was just there to play. In my opinion it was a great party.
And according to Dominic it was an awesome birthday party.

I'm glad.

 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BUD

HALLOWEEN PARTY 2012!

The little kids (and me, and mom and dad) went to a Halloween Party last Sunday, as I have already said in a previous post.  I promised pictures, so here they are:

 She can be an angel....

And a pinching demon....

But EVERYONE loves a baby in a tutu playing with a pumpkin!

I think the costumes turned out pretty well, and they had fun at the party!

Oh This Weather...

It is September 1st  October 25th and as I write this post I am sitting on the Great Room floor, almost every window in the house is open, it is STUNNING outside and I am in a tank top and shorts.

This weather feels FANTASTIC.

Last week it was in the forties and rainy, not at all enjoyable.

Next week it's supposed to be down in the thirties.

The weather men are expecting snow.

And for that I am thrilled.

Seriously, I'm excited.

!!!!!SNOW!!!!!!

I love snow.

But yeah, that's the weather here. CRAZY.

Just thought I'd let you know.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

The moment your daddy tells you that you need to update the blog you NEED to update the blog.

As it is almost Halloween, Halloween costume ideas have been popping up around the house (which is a good thing, because the little kids have a Halloween Party tomorrow).

Audrey has decided to be Mia, the American Girl Doll.

She's planning on the outfit with the sweater.

Dominic is going to be a Black Knight...

And I'm not honestly sure how it's going to turn out, it will be good obviously, but he has come up with the design himself, so I don't have an example picture.

Lili had about 50 million different  costume ideas, but today she finally decided on Izzy from Jake and the Never Land Pirates.

You can expect pictures on how the costumes came out on Monday or Tuesday, so stay tuned!

Sunday Fishing

A few weeks ago About a month ago we went to a friend's house for an afternoon of fishing, I honestly can no longer give you a play-by-play of the adventure because it was a month ago, BUT I think the pictures do a pretty good job of telling the story.

I have about a million more pictures, but Dominic is nagging me to go push him on his new swing, so ta ta for now!

SHE CAN PULL HERSELF UP. GAH.

The Fun and Only

That's right! We went to Cedar Point last month.  We had a blast, OF COURSE.
Cedar Point has basically turned into a family tradition, we go almost every year, and this year was extra awesome because Grandpa and Grandma O got to come with us!

Prepare for some ultra epic photos courtesy of Grandma:
